It's true that a good paint job involves having a good material and technique.
While choosing the right paint color is up to you , choosing the right type of paint doesn't have to be a tough decisions .
This article will serve as a guide to the different types of paint as well as to identify there pros and cons,

POROUS SURFACES:-  this are surfaces that can absurb components both water base and oil base materials , they have tiny holes that run through them which are not always visuable but they breath through it, this help them absolve  , adhere and dry up within a space of time.

NON POROUS SURFACES:- this are surfaces that can not absurb components , they don't have holes withing them , they requires the assist of ventilation to adhere to components.

PRIMER PAINT:-

As the name primer paint, this is a water base paint, low quality emulsion majorly for priming surfaces , primer paint can be apply on any (porous surface) absurbing surfaces, 
Primer paint are used to coat the surfaces before final painting and also to give strong adhesion and to cover or seal off even surfaces from surface preparation.

°Primer paints are applied by using any size and types of wool rollers and bristle brush.

°Primer paints can be applied on boards, woods , newly plaster walls , previously painted  walls and screeded walls and other porous surfaces.

EMULSION PAINT:-

This is one of the common used paint from the 80s, emulsion paint is a water base paint, 
widely used for interior finishing in random , this paint has been around for a long time and still maintaining it's ground among the average masses, it's inexpensive and gives a good finishing when applied the right way.

°Emulsion paints are applied by using any size and types of wool rollers and bristle brush.

can't be clean when stained

Colors not appearing at it best quality.



MATTE PAINT:-

One of the quality paint for interior and exterior paint finishings is Matte paint, this is a water base accrylic paint, highly nourish with advance and concentrated materials to give a standard finishing that
can withstand all weather,
gone are the days of easy faded paint colors on walls, 
cheap paint that comes off the wall due to sunlight and dust and flakes when wet by rainfalls,

SATIN PAINT:-

Looking for a paint that you can easily clean with  damp clothe, foam and water and doesn't wash off or fade away , with color so sharp and vibrant, you definitely looking at satin paints, very easy to maintain
with it's shiny and glossy surface , smooth and gives luxurious dept in finishing ,
Satin is the choice of many when it comes to interior paint finishing , it has a very high concentration of accrylic and other components material which gives it advance Sheen to protect walls , excellent coverage capacity and spread a long way.

Can't be applied on exterior walls due to sunlight,(color  fades easily)

Can be peeled off the wall when not properly treated by primer paint.



SILK PAINT:-

With slight difference to satin paint is silk paint , durable with long last components but low in Sheen finishing and it's cleanable , silk paint is a weather friendly paint and can be applied on interior and exterior walls , 
it can stand sunlight , rain falls and greive dust , 
if your house is on a water land , lagoon , or near a canal you should consider silk paint on your exterior walls ,
when you paint your projects / spaces with silk paint you definitely won't be in a rush to paint any time soon.

GLOSS PAINT:-

This is a paint that is generally called oil paint , gloss paint is a resine base paint which make it a different material compared to other types of paints on the list , it has a good coverage and spreads easily when mix in decent measurements with either thinner , kerosine or petroleum , it's mostly used to seal off walls with high poison on it or to resist water from penetrating walls , gloss paint are easy to maintain on walls and stand a long time

°Gloss paint are applied by using any size and types of wool rollers , bristle brush , spray cans and spray gun

°best suites on interior and exterior walls finishing " kitchen, bathroom , doors ,walkway , stairs, show rooms , burglaries , gates , exterior skirting / elephant leg and other preferred spaces (porous and non porous surfaces)


•PROS :- 
Gloss paint can be applied on boards, woods , fiber , canvas , metals and previously painted walls ,

Can be easily clean when stained ,

Leaves color at best contrast and bright value ,

Provents metals from rust.

•CONS :- 
Can't be applied on newly plaster walls and screeded walls without been primed ,

Easily exposes error  and contours on wall not properly prepared when lighted ,

It's flammable and has an intoxicated odour which is bad for inhaling (it's advise to always use a nose guide when applying


Conclusion
Read products prescription and follow all necessary protocol to achieve best finishing , notice what type of paint is best for exterior and what for interior

mostly consider weather a product is best achieve with the O.A.U methods (open and use method) or requires thinning / mixing and what measurements are you to consume when mixing.
